Eagle

Bald Eagle is one of the largest birds in North America. The white head and tail and the large yellow beak are its distinct trade marks.

Eagles are on top of the food chain and mostly eat fish.

The pesticide DDT use decimated the eagle population and with its banning eagle populations are increasing in some areas.

Juvenile eagles are mostly brown and it takes four years to mature to adult plumage of white head and tail.

Bald Eagle was chosen as the United States official emblem in 1782.
